**Update** 8-17-2013 – The victim of the fall has now been identified. Police say 48-year-old Irene Trupp apparently jumped to her death. A witness on the 16th floor saw her fall. A car in the parking lot that did not have a pass had identification in it that matched Trupp’s description. The authorities notified her relatives in Lillian of the accident.
For the third time in less than a month, a person has fallen from a balcony in the Gulf Shores area. An unidentified woman fell 17 stories to her death this morning. The incident occurred at the Seawind Condos around 9:30 AM. The body was discovered by a citizen passing by.
Earlier reports indicated that the victim was a child, but police have verified that this is not the case. The woman’s age and identity have not been revealed yet, as police need time to identify the victim’s family. An investigation into the cause of the fall is underway, and no details have yet been revealed.
On July 19th, 18-year-old Challenge Talbot was found dead in the Turquoise Place Condominium’s swimming pool after falling from a balcony. On August 6th, 17-year-old Ian Blanco was found dead in the Tidewater Condominium parking lot. Both teenagers were visiting Gulf Shores from Louisiana.
