An escaped confict was picked up in Pensacola on Tuesday by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Pensacola. Thirty-three year old Shawn Jolivette escaped from a jail road crew work detail around 10:00 AM on Tuesday in Louisiana. He was captured around 11:00 PM Tuesday night in the parking lot of Casino Beach.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies and FDLE agents assisted the Marshals in capturing the fugitive. A stolen car from Lafayette, Louisiana was also recovered. There was a loaded 9mm handgun under the front seat of the car.

Jolivette was imprisoned at the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail in Louisiana. He was serving time for parole violations. He had previously been serving 63 months for federal firearms charges. He will now face charges for stealing the car, and may face charges for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Jolivette is currently being held at the Escambia County Jail. He will face local charges before being sent back to Louisiana. His bond was set at $5,000.
