Sandbags Available to Saraland Residents

Posted by David Merrell On May - 3 - 2012

After a day of heavy rains with more in the forecast today, the city of Saraland is offering sandbags to its residents. You must be a resident of Saraland and show proof of residency to attain them. The sandbags are available at the Public Work Department (150 Station St., Saraland) until 6:00 PM today. There is a limit of ten sandbags per person. If you have any questions you can call Saraland Public Works at 251-679-5562.

The chance of rain today increases this afternoon. A 30% chance of precipitation persists until about 3:00 PM. At that point the chance of rain increases to 60%. It will remain that high until 6:00 PM. Anyone located near a flood zone or in danger of rising waters should take advantage of this opportunity. Property damage can be avoided by properly placed sandbags.
