Paranormal Activity 4 Top Movie This Weekend
With Halloween just around the corner, a scary movie was bound to take the box office eventually this month, and “Paranormal Activity 4″ did just that this past weekend. The fourth film in the horror franchise brought in $30.2 million over the weekend, easily taking the top spot. Though a solid opening, it was far below the previous two installments, which brought in $40 and $50 million respectively. The overseas take for the horror film was around $26.5 million, bringing the international total to $56.7 million.
Ben Afleck’s “Argo” held up strong in its second weekend, dropping only 15% from its opening bow. The film brought in $16.6 million, good enough for the second spot in the weekend box office. The animated “Hotel Transylvania” took advantage of the Halloween season to take the number three spot with $13.5 million, raising its total domestic haul to $119 million.
