Officer Killed While Escorting Obama Motorcade

    A campaign event turned deadly in Palm Beach County, Florida on Sunday. A motorcycle police officer who was escorting President Obama’s motorcade was killed while attempting to shut the roadway down. The officer, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

    The accident occurred on Interstate 95. The officer was a member of the Jupiter Police Department. No charges have been filed against the driver of the pickup truck, but the investigation is ongoing. President Obama had been attending a campaign event at Palm Beach County Convention Center.
