Meth Lab Discovered At Tillmans Corner
While searching for Derek Wood, police discovered a meth lab at his Tillmans Corner home. Wood, the brother of missing teen Britney Wood, was arrested earlier this year on second degree sodomy charges. He is one of several family members related to Britney that were arrested on similar charges. Derek was due in Bay Minette court on Friday, but failed to show up.
Thanks to a GPS tracking device strapped to his ankle, police were able to track him down. They followed the signal to his Dozier Lane home, where he was found in a car with a female driver. The two took off when the police approached. They were pursued, and wrecked their car shortly thereafter. Wood took off on foot, and removed his ankle bracelet while on the run. He is still at large.
Police asked to look around the house after Wood escaped, and that is when they discovered the meth lab. Two suspects were arrested, one of them being Victoria Phillips. They are both being charged with manufacturing and selling drugs. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Derek Wood should contact either the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office or the Mobile Police Department.
