Derek Wood Back In Police Custody

Posted by David Merrell On October - 18 - 2012

After a week on the run, Derek Wood is back in police custody. Wood failed to show up for a court date last week, and was tracked to a house in Tillman’s Corner thanks to a ankle monitor. He evaded police and ran off into the woods, removing his monitor in the process. Wood, who had been on the run since October 12, turned himself in this morning.

According to Fox 10 News, Wood evaded police because he wanted to see his brother before being arrested again. He is facing sodomy charges following a large scale child abuse investigation that led to the arrest of several of his family members. Derek Wood is also the brother of missing teen Britney Wood, who disappeared earlier this year and has not been heard from since. It is unclear at this point if there is a connection between her disappearance and the child abuse involving several family members.
