Body Found in Mt. Vernon

A local fisherman has discovered a body at Shepard Lake in Mt. Vernon. The body was discovered around 10:54 AM. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Department has sent their flotilla unit to investigate, but it is unclear at this time if foul play was involved. The victim is a 64 year old male, whose identity is unknown at this time. Shepard Lake is located at the end of Shepard Lake Road, off the Mobile River.
