Another Top Ten Team Falls
Another top ten team has bit the dust. Stanford, which was ranked #8 in the AP poll and #9 in the coaches poll, lost to Washington on Thursday night. The Cardinal was not ranked in the North Mobile Post’s top ten. Several other teams faced big scares this week, and some reordering is definitely called for. The top of the list remains the same, as Alabama took care of business with another double digit victory. The Crimson Tide actually gave up some points this week, but a letdown against an over matched Ole Miss team was expected and warned against by Nick Saban. Nevertheless, Alabama remains undefeated.
Florida State avoided a trap against South Florida, pulling out a 30-17 victory after their much hyped win over Clemson last week. Georgia pulled out a 51-44 win in a shootout over Tennessee. LSU took care of Towson 38-22. Oregon is the big mover for me this week. They crushed Washington State, and I’m finally ready to give them their due. Close wins by the two SEC teams were enough for me to send the Ducks over them into the 3 spot.
