Alabama Still Top Team In The Nation

Posted by David Merrell On September - 11 - 2012

The Alabama Crimson Tide handled a game Western Kentucky team 35-0 to move to 2-0 on the season. QB AJ McCarron threw for 4 touchdown passes to lead the Tide to victory. The only problem for Alabama was the 6 sacks the team’s vaunted offensive line gave up. Otherwise, the game played out like the tuneup that it was. Bama travels to Arkansas next for a date with the Razorbacks, who are coming off a stunning loss to Louisiana-Monroe.

USC dropped 40 points on another opponent, winning 42-29 over Syracuse. QB Matt Barkley had 6 touchdown passes on 23-30 passing. The Trojans got off to a slow start, but once they got rolling, Syracuse had no answer. In other top 5 action, LSU rolled over Washington 41-3. Oregon topped Fresno State 42-25, and Oklahoma rebounded from a lackluster game last week to crush Florida A&M 69-13.
